LEER Locks & Keys – Replacement Security Hardware

★★★★★4.8/5· thousands of reviews

Genuine LEER replacement lock cylinders and keys restore security to your truck cap after lock damage or key loss. Each set includes precision-machined cylinders that match the original mounting points on LEER 100R, 100XR, 100XQ, and 180 series caps. We manufacture these locks to the same tolerances as factory installations, ensuring weather-tight integration with your topper's locking mechanisms.

Every lock cylinder in this replacement set ships with two laser-cut keys. Our support team can verify key codes from your original purchase if you need matched sets across multiple locks. The corrosion-resistant finish protects internal components in humid climates and road-salt environments.

Lock Cylinder Construction & Finish

Lock Cylinder Construction & Finish

The zinc alloy housing resists corrosion across temperature extremes from –40°F to 150°F. We apply a nickel-plated finish that holds up under weekly truck washes and road-salt exposure common in northern climates. Internal tumblers use brass pins rated for 50,000 cycle endurance testing, matching the lifespan of the original locks installed at the factory.

Each cylinder measures 0.625 inches in diameter with a 1.25-inch barrel length. The cam tail extends 0.375 inches to engage the locking rod inside your topper frame. When you turn the key, the cam rotates 90 degrees to release the striker plate that secures the door or window panel.

Same-Keyed Replacement Options

Same-Keyed Replacement Options

We offer same-keyed sets if you’re replacing multiple locks on a single truck cap. A typical LEER 100XR topper uses three locks: one for the rear door and two for the side sliding windows. Ordering a same-keyed set means one key opens all three access points, matching the convenience of your original factory configuration.

If you still have one working key from your existing LEER topper locks, our team can reference the key code to cut matching replacements. Key codes appear on the original purchase invoice or on a metal tag attached to the first key you received. Contact our parts desk with your topper serial number and key code for exact matching.

Installation & Mounting

Installation & Mounting

Removing the Old Lock

Open the topper panel and locate the lock cylinder on the interior side. A single retaining clip holds the cylinder in place—slide the clip off the cam tail using a flathead screwdriver. Push the old cylinder out from the interior side. The barrel should slide free without resistance once the clip is removed.

Installing the New Cylinder

Insert the new lock cylinder from the exterior side, aligning the cam tail with the vertical slot in the locking rod. Push the cylinder flush with the outer panel surface. Slide the retaining clip onto the cam tail from the interior until it seats against the mounting flange. Turn the key to verify the cam rotates smoothly and engages the locking rod.

Perfect match for my 100XR
I lost the keys to my 2015 LEER 100XR and this replacement set fit exactly like the originals. The cam lined up perfectly with the locking rod, and I was back in business in under ten minutes. Highly recommend ordering the same-keyed option if you're replacing multiple locks at once.

Saved me from replacing the whole topper
My old locks were so corroded they wouldn't turn anymore. These new cylinders dropped right in and the corrosion-resistant finish gives me confidence they'll last longer than the originals. The instructions were clear and I didn't need any special tools.

Great quality, just verify your model first
The locks are solid and well-made, but I initially ordered the wrong set for my older 1998 LEER cap. Customer service helped me figure out I needed an adapter plate. Once I got the right parts, installation was straightforward and the locks work perfectly.

Much better than aftermarket alternatives
I tried a generic truck cap lock from an auto parts store first and it didn't fit right. These OEM LEER locks were worth the extra cost—they sealed properly and the key action is smooth. No more rattling or water leaks around the lock holes.

Same-keyed option is a must-have
We ordered three locks keyed alike for the rear door and both side windows. Now I only carry one key for the entire topper instead of juggling three separate keys like before. The convenience alone made this upgrade worthwhile.

Fast shipping and easy install
Locks arrived in two days and I had them installed during my lunch break. The retaining clips were easy to remove and the new cylinders seated flush with no gaps. Very happy with the fit and finish on these replacement parts.

Common questions about LEER lock replacement

No, these OEM lock cylinders are designed specifically for LEER-branded truck caps. The barrel diameter, cam configuration, and mounting hole spacing match LEER specifications. Aftermarket caps or other brands like Snugtop or Century use different lock dimensions and cam angles, so these replacements will not fit properly.

We cannot key LEER topper locks to match automotive ignition keys due to different keyway profiles. LEER uses a standard cam-lock keyway, while vehicle manufacturers use proprietary ignition key shapes. However, you can order same-keyed sets so one key opens all locks on your truck cap, or work with a locksmith to rekey the cylinders after purchase if you prefer a custom solution.

Check your original purchase paperwork for a key code printed on the invoice or owner's manual. Some LEER keys have a small metal tag attached with a stamped code. If you've lost both, contact our parts department with your topper serial number—we can often retrieve the key code from our manufacturing records for caps built after 2005.

Each lock cylinder ships with two laser-cut keys and one retaining clip. The O-ring seal is pre-installed on the lock barrel. If you're replacing multiple locks, order one set per lock location. Same-keyed sets for three-lock configurations include three cylinders, six keys total, and three retaining clips—all keyed to operate with a single key.

These OEM cylinders fit both fiberglass 100-series caps and aluminum 180-series caps manufactured after 2010. The mounting hole size and locking mechanism are identical across both material types. Verify your topper model number before ordering—some commercial-grade LEER models use heavy-duty paddle locks instead of standard cam cylinders.

Our OEM lock cylinders are rated for 50,000 cycles under laboratory testing, which translates to approximately 10-15 years of typical use. Real-world lifespan depends on climate and maintenance—locks in coastal or winter-road environments benefit from biannual lubrication with graphite powder. Replace locks immediately if you notice key binding or difficulty turning, as worn tumblers can break off inside the cylinder.

Installation requires no special tools and takes about five minutes per lock. You'll need a flathead screwdriver to remove the retaining clip and access to the interior of your topper panel. If you're comfortable with basic hand tools, this is a straightforward DIY project. We provide step-by-step instructions with every order, and our support team is available by phone if you encounter any issues during installation.
